In a world where people obsess over celebrities it is no wonder that the top selling occasions for the glossy magazines are the celebrity weddings. Celebs can throw ten times the amount of money at a wedding on extravagant locations, designer wedding invitations and wedding cakes big enough to feed an army. But these occasions don’t always work out as they should with some events becoming just as chaotic as anybody else’s who has rushed into the big day has planned the occasion properly. Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats
Alicia Keys and her producer boyfriend Swizz Beats exchanged their vows on French Island of Corsica on July 31st 2010. They were married at a lavish private home close to the Piantarella beach. The function was kept intimate with only selected close family and friends invited. Alicia chose a beautiful silky ivory dress and an illustrious diamond head piece. Carrying a bouquet of Calla Lilies Alicia walked down the aisle with both her mum and dad. Following the wedding the couple held a poolside reception decorated in tones of deep red. Celebrity guests who are believed to have attend the wedding include Bono and designer Tommy Hilfiger. It was rumored in May that the singer of the “Element Of Freedom” album was pregnant. Swizz Beats already has a son Nasir Dean who attended the wedding in France.

It is no secret that the two hosts of MTV’s video music awards are set to get married later this year in India. It is also rumored that the A-list couple are having a competition where fans can enter to win a place at the wedding. Although it usually the bride that gets overcome with excitement before the wedding but in this case it would appear to be Russell who is getting a bit carried away. The “California Gurls” singer recently posted a picture on her twitter account of Mr Brand trying on a wedding dress. Hopefully they will get things the right way round when it comes to the big wedding date. Katy and Russell first met after the MTV video music awards and it is believed that Russell won her over by writing a romantic poem to the “I kissed a girl” singer.

Vince and his Canadian partner got married on the second of January 2010 in Chicago. One of Vince’s self-confessed hates is over lavish weddings. The couple were married at a small ceremony with just family and friends. The star of the hit movie “Wedding Crashers” believes that couples who go crazy on spending for the wedding are only doing this to over compensate for what they have missing in their relationships. He also thinks that couples overspend to deter the marriage from divorce, but inevitably the overspending celeb couples break up.
